Our committee will be meeting on Wednesday, October 14 at 2 PM. Members are Dara Wolfe (chairperson), Peg Auman, Barb Heckendorn, Dotti Hoglund, Margie Kriss, Rachel Mock, and Pastor Scott.
The Evangelism Committee is working on being a good neighbor to the Fort Zeller Elementary School community. Before school started in August, we presented them with items on their needs list: children’s disposable masks, hand sanitizers, and tissues. We also have hopes of another project to help their families in need—more on that later.
Our committee was blessed with 3 dedicated members in past years: Linda Bentz, Betty Schware, and Betty Templin. We wanted to recognize their efforts and continue their work of evangelism by handing out Millcreek Lutheran pens, 1 to keep and 1 to give away. A dedication service has been scheduled for September 27. Everyone will receive further explanation at that time.
The Ingathering project ended on September 20. The total number of completed kits will be reported in the November church newsletter.
Other Evangelism Activities: 1) Providing drivers to transport members to medical appointments. Dotti Hoglund is the contact person. She can be reached at 717-228-8177 (cell) or 610-655-7692 (home). 2) Collecting used ink and toner cartridges and old cell phones to be recycled by taking to Jubilee Ministries. Place in bin in hall leading to multi-purpose room. 3) Collecting new and lightly used small tools and building supplies (nails, tiles, electrical outlets, etc.) for Habitat for Humanity. Place smaller items in the bins in the hall leading to the multi-purpose room.
Pick up of larger items by the Lancaster Lebanon Habitat ReStore has been suspended at this time due to COVID-19.
